In 1993, the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) went into effect with the goal of providing work-life balance opportunities to covered employees and their families. However, more than 20 years after the Act’s inception, the law continues to spawn confusion, contention, and risk exposure for employers.

This webinar analyzes the FMLA from its most basic provisions to its most complex sections and everything in between. Attendees will gain a better understanding of both the employer’s and the employee’s rights and obligations under the Act. Attendees will also learn about specific real life FMLA circumstances that trigger many other federal and state laws as well as how to avoid FMLA abuse and reduce employer risk of liability under the Act.
